The Boston Auto Show was a great time, check out my pictures. I hadn't been in a very long time and it was cool to see some of the new production cars I haven't gotten a good look at yet. The M5 was definately my favorite. The next Impreza STI also looked very good. Seeing the new grill in person, I really don't have a problem with it and am starting to like it. Jeep also had a cool setup with the offroad course they setup. It had a 35 degree incline and a 45 degree decline. Starbuck, Cook and I got to ride in a Rubicon around it.

Springbreak is finally here and it could not have come at a time when I needed it more. C-term again lived up to its reputation. Its never easy and you have to fight your way through it. Well I am certainly glad it is over, I definately worked harder this term than I have any other term before. 18 hour days are not cool, especially for weeks in a row. Anyway, it's over, I'm tired, that's that.

I finally got my new phone this morning. It had been waiting for me here at home all week. I'm exciting having a new phone, but moving 70+ phone numbers isn't. I definatley have quite a bit of time left before I finish setting it up. I'll have some pictures of it and from it up in the gallery in a little while.

As for the break itself I don't have much in the way of plans. Sleep will be my biggest proirity since it had to take a backseat the past few weeks. I'll still be working at my job over break, which will keep me busy. I also need to catch up on a lot of things, like those financial aid papers. Aside from that, I'll be spending some time with a few friends. Nothing special, but that's fine with me, I'm not really in the mood for a lot of excitement right now.

You think I need that stuff? No, I'm no addict, It's not like i feel the urge every night. Anyway, thanks to Pete I'm not currently in bed. Not that I'd be sleeping anyway. I thought I'd take advantage of my free time. You know, those hours between 2-6 when I'm usually not getting much work done. Anyway, I'm pretty busy checking my email right now.

Taking A Break

It's definately time for me to get away from things for atleast a little while. I've been so busy lately with everything going on but I'll be spending the weekend here at home. My brother is back from LA for the week so it's cool to see him around again. Today was the last day of our live-in at TKE. All the new members stayed at the house the past four days to really get a feel for what it's like to live there. It was definately a great experience. Last night we had an absolutely great snowball fight that took place at like 1am. Snow was flying everywhere, it was great. I would have liked to have been at the house a little more but my schedule just didn't really have room for that.

It looks like I'm going to have to start putting in some more effort into my classes. My history mid-term did not go nearly as well as I had hoped. To do well you basically had to memorize all the names that were mentioned in class. That's the kind of learning I am worst at. I'd much rather learn some concepts and have to apply them somehow. As for my networks class, the projects totally suck. The skills you learn are pretty cool but debugging your programs absolutely sucks. You never know if the problem is with the client, the server, or something in between. The first project was pretty rough and supposedly it is only going to get a lot harder. Atleast by the end of this I'll know a decent amount of C.

I finally got my first paycheck from Texterity. It's great to finally have some money, even if most of it is going to TKE. There's so many things I want or need right now. Near the top of that list is definately a new car. Stop-and-go traffic is definately not a fun thing with my current clutch. It's been driving alright, but I never really know how long that'll last. The rear passengers' side door does not make a nice sound when opened or closed. I'm also hoping to get some sort of Apple at some point. iBook, iMac, Powerbook, I don't really care, I just want one. SuSE is cool and all, but it's still not OS X.

Whoever invented snow sucks

There's still snow everywhere and I don't expect that to change anytime soon. With somewhere around two feet of snow over the weekend, the public schools and some colleges around Worcester are closed but of course not WPI. Why would we let a few feet of snow get in the way of learning. I had to dig my car out this morning so I could get to work. There was barely any snow on top of the car, but there was a wall of snow surrounding it. The parking lot probably won't be getting any better soon because half of the people with cars never even touch them. If no one actually moves their car, the snow can't get cleaned up. I had basically park my car in a snowbank on my way back from work.

Everything has been getting a little hectic lately. With school, work, TKE and work I haven't had much free time. I started my new job back on Wednesday and so far I really like it. The people all there are really nice and joke around a lot. It's kinda cool having my own cubicle with my own computers and stapler. I gotta go bring some office supplies sometime and fill it up a little bit, it's kinda empty right now. Anyway, the work is basically the same type of stuff I do at my job in the CS department. I just make sure everyone's computer works and when they have problems they come to me to get things fixed. It's a bit of a drive, it takes about half an hour each way which will not be easy on my car.

For those of you who are a little less busy here's some cool online games I've been playing recently:
Tea Games
Curveball
Weboggle
Candystan
Miniclip

Work^2 + Synergy

Break is over and the work begins. This term is shaping up to be my busiest here at WPI so far. This term I'm taking a history class, which looks to have a decent amount of reading, statistics, and a 4000 level CS course on networks. Also, this term is where TKE starts to own my life. I'll probably be down there at least once a day for the rest of the term. We actually have the winter retreat coming up this weekend which means I'll be gone from Friday night until Sunday night. In addition to all this, I have my workstudy job which will only be two hours a week on Wednesdays now. I'm running out of workstudy money so I need to cut back my hours. However I just got a job at a company called Texterity in Southborough, MA. I'll be working there as the "Junior Systems Administrator" for twelve hours a week. It sounds like a nice place but best of all they'll be paying me very well. Hopefully I'll be able to find some time to head to the gym this term. I'll have to see if I can fit it into my rubix cube of schedule.

In other news my KVM just got here the other day but I already found a program that makes it obsolete. I didn't even get to use it for a full day before it turned into a paperweight. This program I'm using now, called Synergy, lets you use multiple computers as if they were one computer with multiple monitors. It's really hard to explain but it's amazing once you see it.
